Landed of the coast of Malibu CA. 3/22/08. My third cast of the day was nailed by this
beauty. Fishing a favorite 5" Fishtrap #65 on a 3/4 oz Fishco head with redeyes, on a Graftech
7' light rod, Calcutta 400S filled with 15 lb Izorline mono. I was looking for bass in the kelp rooms
of a large reef, and this Halibut thought it was a bass!
The fish ran straight into the kelp and stopped! I
kept pressure on her and gently finished her off, once her head broke the surface.
