This month we learn about the people who make up Michigan Kayak Fishing. We'll also learn about their unique fishery and what it means to be a kayak fisherman in this area.
It all started as two good fishing buds hit the shorelines of northern Lake Michigan during a fateful trip in 2005. That venture netted a limit
of chinook salmon and the idea for a kayak fishing web site serving the anglers of the Great Lakes. Michigan Kayak Fishing promotes kayak angling on the big lakes, rivers, and inland waters of the Great Lakes region. MKF offers information on angling hotspots, launch information, and weather/water conditions. The forum section provides a gathering place for the region's kayak anglers, and MichiganKayakFishing.com hosts gatherings throughout the Great Lakes area.

Springtime ventures include pike angling in the river deltas at the head of Lake St. Clair.

Autumn brings a culmination of warm-water activity and the run of chinook salmon. As the season draws into colder weather, river angling for steelhead heats up along Michigan's western coastline.

Anglers from the website connect for fishing trips outside the region, venturing toward the salt along the eastern coast and the warm climates to the south.

Winter angling provides its own rewards for those suffering frostbit brains!
