About Me

Well, this all started back in january of 2006, when I bought my first kayak from KFS...a Hobie Adventure.
Things certainly have changed since then, and a whole new animal was born. I now own only two Hobies, a Sport and a Pro Angler. Owning a mirage drive in a kayak will transform your idea of fishing. Nothing against paddling, but I like to be fishing all of the time; if you're not presenting your lure/bait, then your not catching. Once you begin to think like a kayaker and not from a boaters perspective the game will change for you. In general, fish are everywhere; you simply need to find their patterns and the baitfish they are feeding on. Target an area close to home and know it better than well. This will allow you more fishing time, and more time out being on the water. If you target far away areas, you will not be fishing as much. Experience is the best teacher, and fishing in all sorts of conditions as well as seasons will make you a seasoned veteran before too long. What you put into this sport is certainly what you'll get out of it.
I'm not one into accolades or titles, or even a tourney fisherman; I'm simply into catching as many fish in the least amount of time having a blast while doing so. Once you become part of a kayak community the world will be yours. I'm fortunate to know many people in the game, and I'm proud to call them my friends. We all share willingly, and will be more than happy to pass off that love of kayak fishing to anyone willing to learn. It's an addictive sport, and for many of us...it's a way of life.
I'm mostly a saltwater fisherman, not that I've forgotton my roots in freshwater; there's simply more fish in the salt...big ones!!!!! Anyhow, drop me a line if you want to BS; the internet never closes...so don't be shy. Hope to see you on the water. MJ
