Having gotten married and moving to western NC, I found my family has access to several kayaks. Not many in the family like to fish like I do, but this summer I was introduced to a sit on top kayak with fishing capabilities like I have never seen. Now I am inspired to find a similar unit, with a few bells and whistles and under $700. Easier said than done. These things are expensive. I don't need the fish finder or troll motor, just a place for rods and a livewell, an anchor, and a comfy seat. Even a paddle strap would be nice. It should be atleast 12' and be able to float >350#. I got a lead for the nantahala outdoor center as a good place to start looking. Maybe I will wait until after the season to find a.better deal as ebay, rei, dicks, cabelas, bass pro all have their limited choices compared to what I have seen on this website and YouTube.
