I am a long term kayak fisherman. I started with a 16' SOT sea kayak in the early 90s. I fished both salt and fresh water with this boat all over Texas.

I sold my yak to friend after a few years and stopped yak fishing in the late 90s.

In 2006, I went on a trip with two friends down the Devil's river in South Texas and rediscovered kayak fishing.

I brought a cheap 10' SI Pelican kayak and rigged it for fishing in Mar 2011. I've taken that little yak from Bolivar Pennisula to Lake Houston to Lake Bastrop to Huntsville State Park to the Elm Fork of the Trinity to the Brazos to Lake Ray Roberts.

I love kayak fishing so much that I've ordered the ultimate...a Hobie Pro-Angler-12. I should get it in July 2012 and I can't wait.
