(Editor’s Note- Denton, also known as Dentex are a big variety of Sea Bream, common to the warm Mediterranean waters near Spain, Italy and Greece. The author is a member of the Jackson Kayak Regional Fishing Team, Malaga Spain.)

Francisco Manuel Gil Mateo bendo Hello my name is Francisco Manuel Gil Mateo, but all my friends call me Frasco. I was born in Domon’t Vald’oise, France but I live in Estepona (Malaga) Spain. I work in the area of the education. From very early age I have practiced activities related to the sea, but for the last 5 or 6 years my great passion has been kayak fishing, a sport that satisfies you with big sensations and experiences. With the kayak you can practice a great variety of styles of fishing and obtain fantastic results.

Greetings and good fishing. Fishing Denton from the kayak is a force of passion.

Without even being fully recovered from a season-long shoulder injury, I decided to take a journey with my Jackson Kayaks teammate Antonio Jesus Moreno Diego and our Jackson Kayak Krakens.

Yessss, it's 6 am and my clock sounds, it's time to go and have a good time paddling and fishing with our Krakens. Even though my shoulder still hurts very much.

We paddled about 15 minutes and caught our live baits then began to make our drifts. We had not spent five minutes when I notice my rod gave me the first indication of undewrwater activity. I dropped my bait and in about 15 seconds I noticed my first nibble. I did not spot the fish but 10 seconds later it struck again and this time if my rod begins to do what I like. Bending to the sea, the fish gave me a beautiful combat. This time I am the winner of the battle.

Five minutes after removing my first Denton of the year, I looked for more bait for my colleague Antonio Jesus (Popper) and me. I captured alive, and put on our gear with a great results. While I had a beautiful fight with another Denton, my partner has another bite. While my fish surfaced and struggled and fought to get loose from my hook, my partner made another big catch of a beautiful Denton.
