Team Ocean Kayak’s Vincent Rinando won Angler of the Year in the Third Coast Kayak Series for 2008. This tournament series had stops in Port O’Connor, Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, Port Mansfield and Port Isabel. Team Ocean Kayak dominated this kayak series with:
This was a very competitive tournament series with Vincent, Filip and Sam only separated by 10 points going into the final leg of the series. Captain Filip Spencer placed 3rd overall in the stringer division for the Port Aransas event and Vincent Rinando placed 5th giving him enough points to hold off Captain Filip Spencer by one point. Fishing was tough under a post frontal weather pattern. Vincent’s fish came at his third stop for the day and within two hours of the weigh in time limit. Sam Rinando had similar results misconnecting on a large redfish as time was running out. This was the second Angler of the Year title that Team Ocean Kayak has won this year.
