Kayak fishing has found fertile ground in the Northwest and the interest and participation in kayak fishing has exploded in the last few years. As with any new pursuit, the learning curve can be a steep one. Although the Pacific Northwest is teeming with a variety of signature species, they can often be a challenge to catch for the novice kayak angler. As an Oregon native, lifelong angler and dedicated kayak fisherman the idea of creating a kayak fishing guide service just clicked and so Groundswell Guided Kayak Fishing (http://groundswellkayakfishing.com/) was born. Groundswell specializes in connecting kayak anglers to not only their target species, but to the information and knowledge necessary for them to find success on their own the next time they hit the water. Groundswell can help shorten the learning curve for a variety of fisheries including, but not limited to, offshore bottom fish/lingcod, coastal and inshore salmon and sturgeon. Custom trips and lessons are also available for kayakers completely new to the sport or veterans looking to pick up additional skills. Guided trips are fully outfitted with all gear, bait and tackle provided. Anglers spend the day using Hobie Mirage Drive kayaks and Kokatat immersion and floatation protection which both help immensely in the challenging conditions often present in many Northwest fisheries.
