Built to fish
I started to research for another boat after a year kayak fishing out of a Manta Ray 12 which was my first boat. I wanted a boat that was built more for fishing and also wanted a longer boat for when I fish off the beach. The Trident had just come out at the time, and the ads listing all its features pretty much had me hooked.
I ended up orderingthe Trident 15 Angler edition with a rudder. The boat is definitely faster than my Manta Ray 12 and I have plenty of leg room for my 6ft frame. There hasn't been any conditions where I didnt feel secure in the boat; even when some rolling waves come at me as a boat passes by. When fishing shallow waters with minimal winds I am able to stand up and fish but it requires some balance. The weight of the boat hasn't been a issue though I have to lift it over my head and onto my SUV. Its high weight capacity allows me to load up for a weekend getaway and camp in remote places or islands. The rod pod lets me stow my rorods for when I launch through the surf and protects them from the saltwater if I rollover in the waves. Even my 7ft rods store easily in the rod pod which runs the full distance of the boat.
After owning it for a couple of year I have since added a Humminbird 597ci fishfinder and an anchor trolley. I have no regrets gettting the boat and still recommend getting it over anyother boat out there right now. You can find plenty of information, reviews, and even see pics of how people have rigged their Trident up with a search online.
