Derick Burgos Has Control of 1st Place in the Series Standings Overall
1st in Fly & 1st Overall in Tampa Bay Redfish Classic
Derick Burgos had a great day of fly fishing in the Tampa Bay Classic and not only scored enough points to win first place in the Fly Fishing Division, but also 1st overall in points. Great job Derick.
Congratulations Derick
At launch time we were still feeling the tropical storm that had passed through on Friday Night but Derick was a man on a mission. After a couple of tough outings the last two ClassicS, the pressure was on, big time. He managed to not only hold off rising star Chuck Statham, but pulled far enough ahead to have complete control of First Place in the Series Standings. Chuck managed more fish but Derick managed to score more points by going to the fly rod. Watch out Derick, Chuck just won a fly rod!
Chuck Statham Captures 2nd Place in Classics Series Standings!
Takes 1st Place in Tampa Light Tackle Divison.
Chuck had another fantastic day on the water in light tackle division and walked away with first place in the Tampa Bay Redfish Classic. He has managed to move up into the Series Standings almost unimpeded. This is the second Classic in a row that Chuck has slammed the event. It is possible that he could catch first place in the Series Standings so keep an eye on this super talent.
Jermey Davidson Takes Second Place in Tampa

Bryan Sutton had a great day on Tampa Bay in his first ever Classic. He finished in a very respectable 3rd place in Light Tackle Division and put himself on the Series Standings board. Bryan had a fantastic time and plans to compete in the remaining 2010 Series events. See you next month in Ozello Bryan, right in your own back yard.
Jack Caldwell Hooks 2nd Place in Fly
Captures 2nd Place in Fly Fishing
Div. Series Standings!
Jack Caldwell broke a good rod and won an even better one by taking a very strong Second Place in the Fly Division. In doing so, Jack has taken total control of Second Place in the Series Standings Fly Division. Wow! Nice job Jack. This is another guy that knows Ozello very well so we'll see what he can do in the Ozello Redfish Slam Classic next month.
High Roller Custom Lures Donates to
Snook Foundation
An inshore fishing kit by High Roller Lures was raffled off and the proceeds went to the Snook Foundation. Thank you very much High Roller Custome Lures.
Bret Fitzgerald from the Snook Foundation and editor of the Florida Sportsman Magazine was on hand to talk about the all important Snook Watch Program with all of the anglers. The ClassicS introduced the program into the remaining events for the regular 2010 Series Year in an effort to help in snook assessment. All of us thank Bret and the Snook Foundation for sharing their knowledge and time with us. It was very informative and we urge all to join the program.
Jermey Davidson was the lucky winner of the raffle and you can see how happy he was in the photo below. Jermey has put together a very nice collection of High Roller Custom Lures with the Inshore Kit and the High Rollers he took home with his 2nd place win in the Tampa Bay Redfish Classic.
We thank High Roller Custom Lures for their generous support.

Derick Burgos
5th Place Helps the Cause
Derick Burgos placed fifth in the Redfish Madness Classic which was enough to advance his efforts to keep control of his First Place Standing in the ClassicS.
Congratulations Derick
It was hot and muggy and most of the catches were taken before 8 AM. Fishing became very tough as the temperature kept rising. The photo weigh in at the Wing House in New Port Richey was a welcome relief as the temperature on the flats rose to above 90 degrees.
PJ Holds Second Place in Series
PJ Weckbacher had enough points to hold on to second place without enduring the heat but Bruce Butler is right on his heels and the new comers are quickly closing the gap.
Ryan Alise Takes Control of Third Place in Series
Reels in Third Place in Redfish Madness Classic
Ryan Alise endured the heat and frustrations of the last two ClassicS to move into Third in the Series Standings. Ryan will have to do well in the remaing ClassicS because the competion is very close. With huge points up for grabs at the next event The Tampa Snook Classic hosted by Whiskey Joes & Budweiser, standings could see major changes. Congratulations Ryan!
Redfish Madness Classic Tournament Winners
Whiskey Joe's Tournament Held June 26, 2010
Newcomer Chuck Statham Slams Classic
Statham Wins Redfish Madness Classic
Chuck Statham slammed the competition at the first Wing House Green Key Redfish Madness Classic. All before 8 AM Chuck had landed 4 big reds. The Redfish Madness was a 3 Redfish Classic so chuck didn't need the fourth. Chuck is a newcomer to the ClassicS and could move into series contention fishing like this. With 4 more ClassicS remaining before the National Championship Classic, Chuck could change the standings more to his likings.
Great Job Chuck & Congratulations in your first Kayak Fishing ClassicS Victory
Jose Chavez Pounds Out 2nd Place
Another Newcomer Does Very Well in First Classic
Jose Chavez captured 2nd Place in the Redfish Madness Classic and has put himself on the Series Standings Scoreboard with his efforts. Jose is another newcomer that has made an impression quickly. Jose plans to compete in the remaining ClassicS events and could play a role in the final outcome in the Series Standings.
