2010 3rd Annual NJ Kayak Fishing Fluke Tournament, sponsor_banner Hosted by Point Pleasant Elks Lodge - Report

Another great tournament, with more and more anglers each year. It was a hot one, with the heat in access of 100 degree's. This year the anglers spread out and we had groups fishing in Raritan Bay, a group launched off the beach in Deal, and we had a group weave the boating traffic in the Manasquan Inlet . The keeper size Fluke were scarce, but everyone got into tons of shorts and had a great time.

I would like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers, the Point Pleasant Elks and the anglers for participating, and I look forward to a strong 2011. We are in the process now of bringing together a committee to help create the best NJ Kayak Fishing Fluke Tournament. Exciting changes for the New Jersey Kayak Fishing Fluke Tournament Next Year!

Next year we are going to make some very exciting change's to the kayak fishing venue and turn it into the greatest New Jersey Kayak Fishing Fluke Tournament. We have listened to the anglers and exciting changes are coming. Here are some of the ideas that we are playing with:

  • We are not going to require an in person captain's meeting the night before (maybe a forum rule sign off)
  • All registrations will be handled in advance of the competition
  • All late registrations will be handled as needed. Time and location TBA for 2011
  • Next year we will be working with Jose from the Salty FlyRodder’s Club to create a fly fishing division
  • Junior Angler Division for anyone under the age of 14.
  • Gear and Product Raffle
  • Starting in 2011, you can start to fish Friday thru Saturday. This will give the anglers 2 days to find some fish.
